In your child's book bag on Friday 12th April you will find their homework book with the new grid of activities inside. Please could you choose a selection of activities to complete over the coming weeks and return your child's homework to school during the week commencing  20th May.

What a very busy half-term it has been! It has been lovely to meet with you all during our parents' evenings and to share the aspirations we have for your child as their learning journey continues throughout Year 1. 

A HUGE thank you for all your support towards home learning this half-term, from sharing reading books, supporting phonics to completing tasks from the homework grid. smiley

I hope that you have had lots of fun in the summer holiday and are looking forward to starting a new year at school in Year 1!

I am really looking forward to hearing all about the fun and adventures you have had with your families!

I hope you are ready to work hard and try your best in all that you do. I am sure that we will have lots of fun throughout the year!

We are beginning our Autumn term with an animal theme!

Class 1 Reminders:

Children need a water bottle in school every day. This should only have water inside and should be labelled clearly with your child's name.

Please email any queries or messages to the school office:  office@blakedownprimary.worcs.sch.uk your email will be forwarded to me.

Home reading - Please could home reading books be returned to school each Thursday, your child will then have the opportunity to select a new book to read for pleasure at home. Each Friday your child will be allocated their electronic Little Wandle book via Big Cat Collins, this is the book which they have already read 3 times at school, they will also receive a physical copy of this book.

PE for Year 1 is on a Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Children should come to school in their PE kit on these days.

Homework will be set for each half term. Homework books will be sent out containing the term's activity grid at the start of each term and you will then have 5/6 weeks to complete a range of selected activities.
